Chemical Safety

In the event of a hazardous chemical spill contact David Smith, 974-7986, Nicole Roe, 974-0870, or Luis Rivera, 974-3404 at Environmental Health and Safety.

Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) is responsible for chemical and laboratory safety on campus. Each laboratory should be equipped with an eye wash station and emergency shower or at least have one in the general vicinity.Each laboratory should also have a spill kit. EH&S is also responsible for providing training to University employees, students, and volunteers in chemical safety. EH&S also certifies Fume Hoods. Federal Law requires that all individuals working in a lab take annual safety training. Please contact Aisha Turnbull for information about this training.
