Building Supervisors

Each College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) building has a designated building supervisor who acts as the immediate contact for maintenance needs, ongoing minor projects, security and safety.

Building Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Act as communication liaison between building occupants and the Physical Plant on all of the facility's physical problems (for example, disruption in air flow, water and/or restroom disorder, structural deficiencies). Physical Plant can always be contacted at extension 4-2845 (Work Management Center).
  • Notify building occupants in a timely manner about events that may affect them (e.g., utility outages).
  • Assist the University in establishing the enforcement of health and safety rules in all public areas within the building.
  • In the event of a facility-type emergency, call extension 4-2845.
  • In an emergency situation that is disruptive to the flow of classes, work with the Academic Scheduling Office (4-2461) to determine if rescheduling of classes is feasible.
