Environmental Protection Agency – Environmental Education Grants
The Grants Program sponsored by EPA's Environmental Education Division (EED), Office
of Children's Health Protection and Environmental Education, supports environmental
education projects that enhance the public's awareness, knowledge, and skills to
help people make informed decisions that affect environmental quality.
Fiskars – Project Orange Thumb
Supports community garden groups in the U.S. with tools and materials.Grant recipients
will receive grants of up to $1,500 in Fiskars Garden Tools (retail value), and
up to $800 in gardening-related materials such as plants, seeds, mulch, etc.

Healthy Sprouts Awards
Supporting Awareness of Nutrition and Hunger
These awards support school and youth garden programs that teach about nutrition and the issue of hunger in the United States.
Hooked on Hydroponics Award
Classroom hydroponics offers eager students loads of opportunities to explore concepts
across the curriculum, from biology to economics. Winning programs receive a compact
hydroponics package that includes everything required to grow plants successfully
indoors.
Lowe’s Home Improvement Outdoor Classroom Grants
This school year, the program will award grants up to $2,000 to at least 100 schools. In some cases, grants for up to
$20,000 may be awarded to schools or school districts with major outdoor classroom projects. The grants can be used to
build a new outdoor classroom or to enhance a current outdoor classroom at the school.
Mantis Award Program
Mantis sponsors this award program in support of charitable and educational garden programs that
enhance the quality of life in their host communities. NGA will select 25 gardens to receive a Mantis Tiller/Cultivator.
National Gardening Association and
The Home Depot™ Youth Garden Grants™ Program
NGA awards Youth Garden Grants to schools and community organizations with child-centered garden programs.
Rodale Institute’s Organic School Garden Awards
This program is a contest that recognizes and rewards the most outstanding organic
school gardens. It is not a grant to create a new garden.
Toyota Tapestry: Grants for Science Teachers
Toyota TAPESTRY is open to K-12 teachers of science. The program is open to all
middle and high school science teachers who teach at least two science classes per
day.
US Potato Board and School Nutrition Foundation Co-Sponsor School Wellness Grants
Ten grants of $2,500 will be awarded for one of the following: purchasing foodservice
equipment for the healthful preparation of fresh or processed potatoes; physical
activity equipment; or development or execution of nutrition or physical activity
educational programs.
